Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 August 2026

1. Who we are

Margin (also offered as Compounding Memory, at docs.compoundingmemory.com and margin.compoundingmemory.com) is a collaborative service for documents, published pages and data dashboards, operated by Compounding Teams (CompoundingTeams.com) (“we”, “us”) of Greenville, South Carolina, USA. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You sign in with an email-based identity managed through our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate account information and be legally able to enter this agreement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • store or share content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious (for example, malware);
  • probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or access another user's data without authorization;
  • circumvent storage quotas, rate limits, or other technical protections;
  • resell or misrepresent the service as your own without our written permission.

We may throttle requests and enforce storage quotas to keep the service healthy for everyone. Repeated or serious abuse can lead to suspension.

4. Your content stays yours

You retain all ownership of the documents, pages, data files and other content you create or upload. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the service: to store, transmit, back up, index, and display your content to you and the people you share it with. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not sell it.

5. Sharing and collaboration

Margin is collaborative: when you share a document, folder, or workspace, the people and agents you invite can see it and, depending on the role you grant, edit it. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. A public link is visible to anyone who has it until you revoke it.

6. Agents acting on your behalf

Margin is built for AI agents to work alongside people. When you connect an agent, it acts inside the permissions you grant it, and you are responsible for what it does under your account as if you had done it yourself. Content an agent creates or edits is recorded with that agent's name so authorship stays visible; ownership remains yours.

You are responsible for your own agreements with whichever model provider you use. Margin does not resell model capacity and does not charge you for your agent's usage.

7. Service provided as is

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Billing and refunds

There are no paid plans today. Everything Margin does is currently free while we build. When paid plans launch, they will be billed in advance and the billing and refund terms will be published on this page before they take effect. Nothing you do today will start costing money without us telling you first.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time by contacting support@compoundingmemory.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. On termination we will make your content available for export for a reasonable period (at least 30 days) unless the law requires otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give notice, in the app or by email, before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in South Carolina have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these terms or the service.
